A pair of Minnesota Snow Geese

Recommended Posts

Shot these this afternoon in a Soy Bean field west of Glencoe.

Saw thousands of Mallards and Honkers on the refuge.

They had been leaving between 4:30 and 4:45 to feed and flying over the field we were in.

We had a pair of Honkers give us the cold shoulder and the 2 snows were 50 yards behind them.

They flew over our heads and one of the guys used his Pipsqueak Cackler call to make snow goose sounds, they circled downwind and we thought they were gone, as soon as he got on the call they turn and came back, we took them at about 35 yards above and a little to the front of us.

This happened with about 2 minutes of legal shooting time left.

As we were picking up decoys about 500 Honkers flew right over the field.

Mine is going on the wall. I am on the right behind my Black Lab Anna.

if you read his original post, it says that they simply called the snows in on a cackler call (heartland pipsqueak).

RRR, would i be correct in saying that looks like one of phils fields?
