I drove from brookings to huron this week and saw crops coming out at a decent pace. From the looks of things most of the beans are out except in low wet areas.Heard reports from around huron that the corn was around 18 percent, not too bad considering all the rain we have had out here. Unfortunately, rain is forecast for tomorrow so lets hope we don't get dumped on.

I was in the Brookings area just after Thanksgiving and there was still a fair amount of corn up but it was coming out fast.

With this recent snow the birds should be concentrated. Just wondering how much of the corn is left?

there is still a lot, but varies all over. the problem is most of the elevators are closing at noon for example, because they can only dry so much corn a day. Farmers are having to gamble with driving to the elevator early in the morning and not even knowing if they will be able to unload.

I helped a farmer the other day while hunting, he had 3 semis loaded and ready to go and no where to unload because the elevator was full.

they are getting to what they can but still slow going.

I feel bad for them, they just cant see to catch a break this season. The hunting is definitely improving though.

That's tough. Farmers seem to get the short end to often, one way or another.

So they're still taking the corn out then?
