I am going to spending 6 months in Kansas for work. We are going to be working at Fort Riley. I am going to bring a few guns with me, but I do not believe they allowed on base. Would you leave you weapons in an extended stay motel room? I'm just trying to fiuge out what I should do...

P-Wagon, I don't know how it is now but in my days in the military. POWs (privately owned weapons), could be stored at the base armory and checked out for use. True, you can not carry POWs on military bases. I'd call the local MPs there and see what options they could offer. Ask for the NCOIC of base police.

I'll check with the base but I saw on a web site that person weapons were only allowed if you lived on base and then would be stored in the armory. I'm just a civilian working out of town and entering and leaving the base daily. There is nowhere to store them with the employer as our job trailer is on the base and our office is in MN.

i just leave them in the room and dont have the room cleaned that way nobody knows i have them
