-Marc V-
Was out fishing with a couple guys Haloween day, and the boat was having a pretty good day. I was casting up front, and saw something following in my bait from quite a ways out, maybe 30 yards. Figured it was a fish - so voiced out my typically "fish, fish, fish" for a follow, and when it got closer to the boat I was so confused. The fish was pretty much stanch white. Thought the fish was following in upside down and it was the white belly showing up, but didn't right itself after a few seconds. Fish stuck around for quite a while figure-8'ing, and starring at baits, but didn't eat unfortunately. Didn't figure it was an albino as we may have seen some yellow, or color in it's sides, but it was the whitest/lightest musky I've ever seen. Anyone else seen a fish like this before? -Marc V-
Nope, not in Calhoun. Do you know what issue of musky hunter that was in by chance?
50inchpig
I've seen one - oh wait, I was fishing with Velo - it's not the one in musky hunter - it's ok to say it was on White Bear. I've heard about this fish from one or two guys in the past. Seeing her like we did was quite a treat. She wasn't small either. Gonna be hunting her the rest of the year! TheHawgTrough
I believe it's the one that's out right now. It wasn't completely albino, but had a dark top with the rest of the body white. You'll have to go back and get it to eat so we can see a picture.

It was a pretty cool sight to see.Found the article in the mag - imagine the entire fish as white...
mainbutter
I've seen a white lm bass before while sight fishing (couldn't get it to do anything, was wondering if it was just sick), but an albino or color-mutation musky would sure be a treat!P.S. I just googled 'albino bass' and came across an albino smallmouth, it was VERY yellow. Albinism just gets rid of melanin pigment, leaving plenty of room for yellows and the pink eyes often associated with the condition. A yellow and white musky would likely be an albino in my book, until I can see it in person to be sure!
-Marc V-
Just google albino 'ski, and that could be it. If albinoism does allow yellow to be in the fish, it did seem to have some yellow in it's sides. I was looking for the pink eyes, but couldn't see them. The fish stayed down a bit.I've seen an albino carp before. The real deal- pink eyes and all. Was trying to catch it on the fly rod, but was to cagey. DeBo101
That was one light colored musky. Quite a treat to see in the clear water and we could see that thing way out there. Seen a few light colored ones now and then but that thing was ghostly white/yellow.
smeese
Pie-Bald(?) Is tha lack of coloration in small patches. Albino would be the whole fish, although they would have been seen probably when stocked.
