Lost Lab in South Minneapolis

Recommended Posts

She escaped from the yard on 10/28/09 I was not home at the time Girlfriend was off of work and doing some yard work at the time.

Sadie will get out from time to time and run for about 15 minutes or so and then come back, not on 10/28, we spent about 3-4 hours looking for her then it got dark.

I don't live too far from the Mississippi river and checked down there too but to no avail. And she just loves the water.

So if any FM'ers who live in the S Mpls area see or find a medium size black lab please e-mail me at [email protected]

I would greatly appreciate it.

I had this happen once and I found my lab a month later at a farmers farmyard on a rope. I drove in, went to the house and asked where they got the lab. They said they found it. They only live 1/2 mile from my house and I,m sure they knew it was mine.

Some people find and keep them too.

I know this is not what you want to hear but I would watch the neighborhood very close in the yards.

Thanks for the support all.

I'm not too far from the riverview theater in S Mpls.

I'm heading out soon with the chow to see if we can find her.

She has a very distinctive bark that carries for blocks so if I can get her to bark I can track her down.

Been to animal control and the humane society she hasn't been turned in yet so that leads me to believe that someone has her.

I will keep everyone posted if I find her.

Pier,

I have a few fliers up in some high traffic places.

I also have her posted on C L, Petfinders and the Animal Humane Society web sites.

I have also talked to quite a few of the people walking dogs in the neighborhood and all said they would keep their eyes open.

I was out walking the chow this morning up and down quite a few alley's calling her name and to get my scent out there.

I will be doing the same thing tomorrow, walking and looking.

I am pretty sure she is still in the neighborhood with someone just have to find out who has her.

Still no luck in finding her.

Pier she has just a touch of white on 3 of her feet, the bigest telltale sign is the white on her muzzle.

She weighs 65-70# so she is not huge, and she might have lost a few pounds by now.

I just hope that she is safe and being taken care of.

The reason I asked is a friend of mine thought he saw a bigger black dog with white paws in yard by Sanford.middle school, approximate address 3616 42nd ave, fenced in front yard with some reinforcement "green color" in the bottom couple feet of the fence. He or I do not remember ever seeing anything but 2 white Poms in that yard. I've drove by quite a few times and haven't seen anything as of yet...

You might want to give them a look...

Pier, thanks for the info. I know which house you're tslking about.

I walk the dogs down that way a bit. We picked up a Rott puppy a couple of weeks ago, but I still want my lab back.

Had some medical problems this fall and am trying to get back in shape.

You do live close, In the spring I am always looking for boat company, we should get together and wet a line.

    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
