Slow Drains

Recommended Posts

Bathroom sink and bathtub drains are running really slow and are connected (gargling and bubbling in both at the same time). Tried the plunger, next step is a snake and maybe some liquid plummer.

Any other tips before calling a plumber?

Menards has a cheap white plastic strip with barbs along its length. They work as a quick fix for getting the hair creature out.

If you want to do a thorough job remove the trap and clean it out. Pull the hair out of the strainer.

That will probably take care of the slow drain, if not the next step is to snake the line out.

Those little white plastic deals are the best thing ever invented for the price and they are fast. If you can't stop the wife and kid from drying there hair over the sink it is something you need to invest in.

The plastic thing is called a "Zip It", if I remember correctly. The thing works great. You will never spend another dime on liquid cleaner after using the "Zip it". Was a thread on this topic a month or so ago. Search for it-might be under "expert information".
