1 gb i pod?

My friend was cleaning up the ice last year after fish houses were removed (had a BIG bag of garbage left behind...sad). Anyway he found an ipod and didn't know what it was or how to use it. He gave it to me and I never had one before so I was curious to see if it still worked. I went to target and used a display model to see if it would boot up. It powered on and the screen said to go to ipod/apple.com. My questio is is this thing worth the trouble of trying revive it or is it junk?

Iffy. One Gig isn't a ton of storage nowadays. However you could get some use out if it. However I would figure out the cost of buying all the cables to make it work for you vs buying the closest model you can find to it. (if that makes sense)

Who knows how long the thing will last.

funny you mention that. I ordered a cable off of the big "E"...free shipping from Japan for $1.00. Still the the thing will power on shows an apple then say to see their web site.

$1 is insanely crazy.

Its probably "registered" under somebody else's Itunes account or something. Can't hurt to try it out and see what happens.

I agree. Download Itunes, start up the program and plug it in!

"E" has a ton of great deals on cables. $29 at BB or $6 delivered to your door from China via "E".

On iTunes you can restore it to factory settings which will wipe it out

I found an old 4gb mini and thats what I did. Downloaded itunes off the web and restored it to factory settings (you have to do this).

Is there a way to download what you have on the Ipod to Itunes if you dont have the music already on Itunes? Just wondering...

Not that I know of. iTunes doesn't upload off an iPod, it only downloads onto an iPod.
