New Clam Light/Fan

Picked one of these up today at Fleet Farm in Owatonna. Thing is NICE and throws off some decent light. The fan is nice and quiet, and seems like it will throw alot of air around. Overall, well worth the $25

The ice fishing stuff was kind of all over in there. I was a little surprised, but they didn't have a single house out yet. Other than the Clam light, I got to handle the new Clam/Genz combos, and they are really nice.

I was at Northern Tool and was suprised they sold clam stuff. They had a lot of there new gadgets for sale as well as hub shacks.

powered by (2) D batteries. I don't know if I can name the site here. but there were quite a few places I saw them available

just order 2 of them. One for the portable and one for the wheelhouse. I don't know much about electrical but I was wondering if a guy could wire is direct to a 12v battery?

If it runs on 2 D batteries than it is probably requires 3 volts to run.

You'll probably have to step down the voltage. The fact that it takes 2 "D" cells means that it's a 3 volt unit, not 12 volt like the rest of the wheelhouse.

Just did a little looking online yonight and found that most car cell phone charges convert 12v to 3v to charge your cell phone. Looks like this would work for the wheelhouse. I'm going to try it and see what happens.
