Berkly gulp on ice

What kind? The twisters and worms are probably too big and aggressive and require you to be trolling or reeling for them to be properly worked.

If you want to use plastics on hardwater, the Finesse Plastic tails are very effective.

They'll work. I've had to use the most fresh bags/jars I've got since they seem a little softer then and move a little more. I've also picked up the occasional walleye with a crappie jig and a Gulp! waxie when I'll see them swimming around the bottom under the crappies I'm fishing.

It's tough to beat live bait through the ice for walleyes. If they are fairly aggressive, I've found that the berkley gulp alive minnow heads can be productive when they are paired with a jigging spoon. Now on the other hand, gulp for panfish...

I see that they now have Gulp Alive minnow heads for ice fishing. They also have 1" minnows this year. I heard Gillespie talking about the minnow heads last year but he must have had the inside track to testing them out last winter, but they're here this year for everyone. Might be worth a try.

The minnow heads are definitely worth a shot. They were the only artificial I could get a walleye to smack.

I was able to try some of the 1" minnows last year right at last ice on panfish and they were awesome. I picked up 4 jars for this year. Another thing to try is the 1" gulp alive fish fry. Those work great too.
