ok they just had on the news a couple of months ago that is illegal to have a gps unit mounted to the windsield in the state of minnesota

ok I have a cobra radar detector in my pickup but I don't ever go ove 5 mph over I just use it cause sometimes when I don't use the cruise control I might start going to fast and if it goes off I can check my speed plus I like the fact that it can detect other emergency vehicles and stop lihgts

Another bit of advice: If you go to Canada, don't even try to bring one across the border. They have radar detector detectors up there. They take it and don't give it back, I understand.

that is weird my cobra has a radar detecter detecter in it or blocker or whateber you want to call it

mine is velcro'd to the dash. just pull it off and stick under the seat. before you pull over.
Does not help. By the time you realize you are being clocked the officer has your speed locked in. They know you have a detector as soon as they activate the unit. The front of your vehicle

dips, brake lights go on,driver looks straight ahead like he did not notice you as he passes by etc.
