Can Am XT Max 500 ???

Hello,

I have test drove the 400 and the 650 but not the 500. Does anyone own a 2006-2009? what are your thoughts? enough power?

I was told the 500 has just about the same power with less torche then the 400 due to it being a twin and not a single cylinder.

If you were told this by the person selling the machine, I would walk away. The Can Am 500 Twin will run with some of the 650-700 class machine. Being a V-Twin will give you more hp than a single, especially a 500 Twin compared to a 400 single.

There was an issue with overheating where Can Am was replacing the radiators free of charge. This didn't exactly fix the problem. I haven't heard or seen any reports of the '08-'09 model years.

Agreed. The 400 is VERY fast for a 400 but will not hang with the 500. If you are going with a Max, I would not get the 400. The 650 will do anything you ever need.

I have an 2006 Max XT 400 and it does all I need. I also don't run it as hard as most on this forum. I basically ice fish and goof off a little. It is pleny fast but there are always others faster.
