Tom7227
I have an Ecowater 3002 and the brine tank filled with water instead of doing whatever it is supposed to do. The HSOforum is a bit less than helpful. I have thet owners manual and it instructed me on taking apart and cleaning the nozzle and venturi, which I did. I ran the rig through the entire cyckle and the water didn't go down. I then siphoned the water out of the system and found debris down at the bottom of the tank - dog food (don't ask.)Any suggestions on what more needs to be checked/cleaned?The rig was installed in 1995 and for 10 years there were 5 of us here, pretty much 2 for the past couple of years. Time for a new one? No complaints with the way it's worked. We're on city water in White Bear Township if that makes any difference. Thanks for the help.Tom
Boxcar Wllie
I had a same situation happen to me...minus the dog food part !!!!...I did a lot of searching online and found a pretty helpful site. Now, the make and model may not be the same but the principle might be for your unit. Hopefully I won't get blocked for posting this link, (since it is just a troubleshooting guide). If it is blocked just e-mail me at [email protected] I found that the part($5.00)was a small gasket that let air run by so it wouldn't create a seal and drain the brine tank. Here is the site. Good luck and let me know if it helped. Minners http://www.kenmorewater.com/HSOforum/animations/product-animation/ts_index.html
Eric Wettschreck
During the "Brine draw" cycle water passes through an eductor in the head, this creates a low pressure area (vacuum) on the eductor inlet, therefore drawing brine from the tank. If the brine level is not going down there are a few things to look at. Dirty venturi. is there a screen in the tubing where it attaches to the head? It may be clogged. Poor tubing connection allowing air into the tubing. Foot valve in the brine tank may be stuck shut. (It should float) If it's filling but not drawing the first thing I'd look at is the foot valve in the tank. Then I'd go to the venturi in the head. Also look for leaks in your tubing connections. On a side note, you may want to teach your dog to drink from the toilet and not the brine tank.
Tom7227
I followed the clues and ran it through the steps, cleaned this out, blew that out, and it seems to work. Great HSOforum Minners - thanks for the info.
