What is the best technique to use to face polish a stone. I have seen many flat cuts with a lapped finish, but like the look of a cabbed(rounded)finish better.

Can it be done on a bench grinder with the right wheel or does it need to be done in a water bath?

Anybody able to find bits for a Dremel tool that work?

Anybody do this work for a fee?

I picked up a few beauties over these last few desperate days of picking before the snow flies. Thanks,Hans

Lets see some pics laugh

I tried it with a 4" grinder and diamond pads. You have to keep it wet for best results. I did not get the finish I wanted but it did really bring out the bands nice.

There are specialty grinders that have water moving through them but you still have the high rpm issues....and you don't want to grind your fingers either smile I'd like to try hand polishing a piece once...I think the end result would be worth the time.
