getting more out of an arctic cat jag?

i have a 1999 AC jag deluxe 340 and would like more snap. it kicks in at 4000 rpm. what could a guy change to get more snap and maby top end?

Manufacture...all kidding aside there isnt much available for your sled as far as aftermarket performance enhancements. Maybe some tinkering with differnt weights in the clutchs, or gearing is about your only options.

i might try moving the air intake.. it seems like when the engine warms it slows a little..

nothing you can do will improve the performance a noticeable amount your better off leaving it stock, sell it and upgrade or live with it's limitations.

I would agree...it is a 340 after all. You tweak it to much it will damage it. Those 340's arent made to take alot of modifications.

If it's a little doggy out of the hole, try playing with the needles and the jets. And, maybe look at the weights as was previously mentioned. As everyone else seems to have stated, a 340 is a 340.

i would like to get a new mxz but dont have the $$$ right now.. the book says it should kick in at 3500 rpms it kicks in at 4000 would that make any differenct if i changed the weights so it kicked in at 3500??

i asked a indipendant mechanic about clutch weights and he said he put a 440 in one just like mine 4 years ago.. is he filling me full of [PoorWordUsage] or is this legit?
