I see that there is a plate along the frame from the pivot shaft to where the leaf spring is. Is that for strength because the pivot shafts don't go through the frame? Looks like a nice design. I don't know if a 6,000# system would hold up with that design though. What do you think?

Yes that is a half inch flat that the system is built on,inch and a half stress proof pivot pins.I boxed in the spindles, witch go through the 2x3 quarter wall arms, welded both sides. I think I'll be around 25 to 26 hundred pounds when complete.should'nt be a problem on the weight capacity?

What I meant about the 6,000# system was not about your house, but the systems that I have made are all 6,000# systems. I think that your design is really cool, and would work for lighter houses. I am going to look into making one like that for a 6,000# frame.

OK, I would think it would work fine, There is a really nice trailer supply place about 20 miles from me Lots of cool stuff! If you want, I can take some better pics of the system when I get it back from powder, probably on monday. That will give me a day or two to line up some windows!

Go to our Sponsor www.fishhousesupply.com, they have the best prices on any of the Empire Furnaces. They do have a 14,000 Direct Vent Empire (MV130) on Sale for $450.00!! I had one a few years ago and it would work perfect for a 6 1/2 x 14'. Do not go with a 10,000 Direct Vent, it is too small.

Good Luck

I would go with 2X2 wood studs, easier to work with alsojust as strong as metal because your siding and roof is what keeps your house sturdy. Also the rivets in the metal can rust over time if moisture gets in. I have same fish houe just a foot longer. That's what I did. I also suggest a rubber roof. Absolutely no leaks or moisture.
