Hi, my name is jake from Belle Plaine I've been lurking on here for a while now and i guess its time to join. I mostly fish the MN river for cats between carver and lesuer and i don't really touch the lakes until hard water except to get some bullys for bait. I have a 14 year old son that usually come with and always does better than i do. I know a lot of you from this forum already and I'm hoping to meet some more of you personally soon. I love checking out all the awesome pics of your guys fish and i will add some of mine when i get a chance. my personal best cat is a 47.4 lb flathead i got 3 summers ago 4th of july weekend out of the carver rapids area, I've been hooked on fishing them ever since. I got a 16ft mirror craft with a 25hp johnson that my grand father gave to me and i think its the perfect river machine aside from from a river PRO. Here is to hoping the water comes up a little bit see ya all out there soon. JAKE

Jake, welcome to FM. 47bler...I'm still waiting for one that big. Can't wait to see some pics of that hog. If you've been searching the site for some time than you already know how much info is embedded within the catfish forum. Whenever I have a cattin question I'll pull up some archived posts and usually find my answer. Sometimes I'll post a similar question just to see how the knowledge base has changed since the time the previous question was posted.

Hopefully these rains will bring the river back up...super low last night, drug motor all the way to our fishing hole.
