Cobb73
Does anybody know how to find areas of the national forest or state forest that have been harvested in the past 5-10 years. Or maybe who would have the information in the area of Grand Marais. We leave in 1 week and I am trying to do some last minute research. Thanks. lichen fox
Try the DNR HSOforum...got to Divisions...then to Forestry...you should at least be able to get contact information for that area and maybe they have some maps available... Archerysniper
They had maps at orientation last year that showed were all the perscribed burns had taken over the last few years also were all the moose were harvested I used my cell camera to take pictures of the maps for future use. You can also go on the dnr HSOforum and look at the past harvest maps to give you a general idea of where most of the moose were harvested we took ours out of a area where no one was hunting for miles it was really nice not to be crowded also if you run into loggers they will more then likely be able to give you some info of where the moose activity is. We also got info from grouse hunters don't be afraid to ask questions, also stop at the area ranger station and get maps if you don't allready have them.Have you been up scouting yet or have a area picked out with moose sign.P.S their is a restraunt in grand marais that have the best burgers around it called my sisters place stop and get a burger.
