Pro-Fuel Reserve on Lund

I've had a Lund Pro-V for a couple of years now, but never relly bothered to figure out how the "pro-fuel reserve" works... Like how do I fill it up, or when can I use it? when to flip the "switch"... Was about 10 miles away from the landing the other day, and didn't have much gas left (made it back anyway), but got me thinking about the reserve... what's the deal? can anyone explain it? Thanks!

It's just a lower pick up point in your main gas tank. So you run out of gas in your regular fuel pickup. Get's you thinking hmm, I need to get more gas. Switch to the "reserve" tank, which should give you enough fuel to make it back to shore. Most fuel gages on boats aren't all that accurate anyway, which is another reason why this is a good idea.

Very simple and elegant. Honestly it's one of those features they should have in all Lunds, not just the tourney and high end models.

It works just like the "reserve" on a motorcycle does, or did. When the valve is in the normal position you will run out of gas with a couple gallons left in the tank. You can then turn the valve to "reserve" and use the last few gallons to get home or to a gas supply.

If you do use the reserve DO NOT FORGET TO SWITCH BACK TO REGULAR. (or next time when you are out you are out)
