HugoBox
Got my first Wade's and really like the action so far - no fish yet but it hasn't been wet a whole lot yet either. For those who fish them a lot (Esox Magnum), what seems to trigger the fish most often (I know that different situations will dictate a different aproach)? Fast, slow, or the pause - I really dig how long it will sit there before rising if you stop it. Also, I'm thinking you could working really slowly over the weed tops if you have the patience.thanks - erik
muskydeceiver
Fish it similar to a Suick....rip it, jerk it, pause it, twitch it, pull it, let it hang........set the hook!!!!! Like you said the hang time on them is what sets them apart from a Suick and they figure 8 a little better as well.
10,000 Casts
The fish that I have caught on them seem to hit them on the rise. All of a sudden you jerk and there she is.. I really like them for deeper situations. You can throw them in heavy weeds and rip them too. There is no wrong way to work it. It is a very durable easy to work bait. Everybody should have a couple. jyoung
I have boated many muskies on this jerkbait. I have just about every color Wade has put on the market. It's a great lure! I like it better than the Suick. It can be used in many different ways. Rip it, twitch it, jerk it or with long sweeps. It all depends on what type of structure your fishing. I find the best action for me is to sweep/jerk it until I reach the "sweet spot" of the structure and then give it a couple pops/fast twitches, then pause for a split second, then a couple more quick pops, pause and then continue. That quick snap/pop really makes the tail wiggle.Jeff

Esox_Magnum
So far the advice given is spot on, 10' or so from the boat just stop ripping and let it rise and sometimes theres an open mouth coming up from under it. I rarely figure 8 them ( helps I fish clear water) if they don't eat on the rise most times they won't on the 8 either but they will chase. On the weighted versions change out the hooks to a bucktailed treble I also T the front and center hooks, not sure if it helps but can't hurt. I prefer the 9-11" versions weighted but the 7" always seems to attract something.
Cold Front Pooch
Wade's are deffinitley my favorite jerkbait... Compared to the suicks I think you can fish them ways faster and way more versetile... My biggest problems with them are is its a pain to change the hooks, their made of wood, (my epoxy wore off so teeth stick into the wood so need a great hookset to get to the hooks)
