Skid house battery inside or outside?

I'm building a small skid house for the upcoming ice fishing season and I'm trying to decide whether to make room for a deep cycle battery:

A: On the floor

B: Up high on a shelf

C: Outside

It'll be coming home with me every trip.

It's a 4x8 so there isn't much floor space, but I understand the dangers and hassle of having a 50# battery on a shelf 7 feet in the air...

I've used a deep cycle to light my Clam 5600 over the years and just set it on the ice with no major drawbacks...

The battery will be a trolling motor battery from my boat that I put out to pasture this year...this battery owes me nothing.

I would just use LED lighting and use a smaller 12 volt battery or get some that run off AA batteries.

I seriously advise against placing it on a shelf above waist level. You're asking for an acid bath if something lets go. On the floor inside.

Build a bench seat and hide it in there.

what do you drive to your shack? if its a car why not put it in the trunk or something, wire a broken extension cord to it then wire your houes to a plug in on the outside, plug it in when you get there un plug it when you go...
