To the person or people that messed with my bait site!

That kind of stuff goes on every year somewhere or the other...over the years we've had people set up on the trails leading to our baits on a couple of occassions and we even had one knucklehead do a honey burn in the middle of the road where we parked when we baited...we happened to be hunting that nite, and had our vehicle hid...it was late in the season and the leaves had fallen so we could somewhat see out to the road...we watched this pick-up pull up, stop, heard some talking and clatter and then the vehicle backs up and we couldn't see or hear it anymore....well, the bear came in and I put an arrow through it, it ran about 20 yards, dropped, and we got the death bawl...then we started talking as we headed over to the downed bear and the guys on the road must have heard the death bawl and probably us because all we heard was a vehicle start, take off fairly fast, then stop and some clatter and then take off again...we just looked at each other and wondered what was going on...when we got the bear out to the road there was a sterno can, still hot and an old fry pan with grease & honey still smokin' kicked off the side of the road! It looked like they had set up the burn right where we normally walked in and then backed up to the corner, (about 100 yards), and then sat there broadside so they could shoot out the window if the bear came...Takes all kinds!

Another possibility:

Back in the mid-90s before I moved up here I was running baits for myself and a group of hunters. About 4-5 days before the season, I sent my little brother up to power bait one last time. Now he'd been to all of my bait sites a few years prior, but he's about as sharp as a marble, so I drew him a map. He hit all of my baits except one. Turns out, he took a wrong turn down one trail and just by luck, found another guys site. Yeah, there was probably a sign, but like I said little brother was about 2 IQ points from riding the short bus. Some other hunter got about a hundred pounds of donuts and meat scrap intended for one of my sites. Never did find out how that guy did.

I use cameras that are hidden in small logs. I made them with some AVR microprocessors and pin hole cameras with IR. It is so small it is virtually imperceptible. Bad thing is they won't hold up to a bear inspection if the bear sniffs it out.

you think gummy bears and marshmallows are bad? went to my bait site last night, had about 15 pounds of teddy grahams scattered all about the place. Never saw the culprit, but he left a picinic basket on the ground, had the initials Y.B.

Anyone know where I can find this hoodlum??
