just read that there was only 13 boats, 26 anglers in the event.what do you think was the reason for the low turn out,the economy,or the bite,or any other reason. congrats to the winners

my guess would be all the poor press the lake has recieved about the "slow" muskie bite the last two years. also the 4 fish cought total in last years event did not help.

Economy, "poor" bite, bad prefishing, bad weather...and many more i'm sure.

The only way to know for sure is to ask the guys that normally fish it that chose not to this year. Lots of speculation out there. The only person I've heard from that normally fishes it said the $500 entry fee was too much for both him and his partner given their situations this year. He said it had nothing to do with the bite, as they've actually been doing well out there.
