Vikes Blackedout?

11 posts in this topic

As expected, the Vikings game against Houston on Sunday at the Metrodome will be televised in the Twin Cities after CBS affiliate WCCO (Ch. 4) agreed to purchase the last “several hundred” tickets

WCCO already was planning a special postgame show and the number of high-priced political ads that will run during the game meant accepting a blackout would have been a bad business decision.

The tickets bought by WCCO on Thursday will be donated to local military personnel and their families,

It's a shame that the multi-million dollar vikings organization or their multi million dollar players couldn't have bought out the rest of the tickets and given them to local military personnel and their families. I am the NFL frowns on something like that though.....

Nice Job WCCO, there's another reason for me to continue watching their news........

Is the game on CBS this week? That would be why WCCO bought them up. Otherwise it's usually Fox that will buy they. Cheaper than loosing all the rev from not televising the game.
