SHOWER HOUSE ???

4 posts in this topic

Anyone have any plans or ideas for a shower house? I would like to build a shower house on our vacation property. We do not have electricity, but we can run the generator or hook up a pump to a 12 volt battery. We have a well so getting water is easy just need ideas on getting hot water for the shower.

I have actually been thinking about this at our lake place. Something pretty rudimentary. My initial idea would include building a 6 x 6 fence around it, basically some corner posts, the fencing and a hinged door. For the floor, first laying down several inches of rock and then a weather resistant wood deck floating on the rock. And then running the water/shower in. Nothing fancy, but gives you privacy and a place to hose off when you're a mess.

I was even just thinking solar shower bags for the water.

I would look for a used 6 gallon water heater and a 12 volt water pump from an RV. This would make a very nice shower house.

A friend of mine had a nice set up, he used a turkey fryer burner and put a metal garbage can filled with the water and a 12 volt boat bilge pump in the bottom and put it on a chunk of cement patio block so the pump dont melt.He connected the hose to a regular shower head and wired a toggle switch in the shower.

    • And that's the key...it takes a guy or two to step back from the max deal and take a pay cut to keep this type of talent together. In the NFL, the Patriots are a dynasty because Tom Brady is smart enough to take far less than he'd command on the open mark to stay put with a great coach and build weapons around him...he values rings (aka, his legacy) more than a few more dollars. If GS can do that, they will be relevant for a very long time.
    • nope it didnt!!!!!!!!!
    • IDK, people pick apart the Hanzal/White trade as a mistake, but I don't. I think it was totally worth the shot to make a solid push. Going in everyone who did any analysis knew the first round was going to be full of 2nd round talent so losing a 1st rounder this year wasn't giving up much. I also don't think Fletch should make a trade for the sake of making a trade either. That is a desperation move and not one fueled by focusing on getting the team better. I would be shocked if someone like Scandella isn't moved in order to make room from Granlund, Nino, etc. We are really tight now with the guys we want to keep and have a few holes to fill beyond that so something has to give.
    • Garretson Food Center..... $1.69/ pound You are exactly right.... And if you vacuum seal it with some of the drippings, this winter it will taste like it was fresh off the smoker!

    • Hey @rl_sd who had the meat on sale? Looks great btw
    • chicks maybe exploring what the beak is for
    •   You can also be a little creative with the leftover meat.  For example: The wife and I will whip up a spanish rice mixed in with the pork and make Enchiladas or heat the pork on the stove top, mix in some BBQ sauce and make quesadillas (the grandkids love them).   There's more to pulled pork than sandwiches.
