Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Low battery, those units don't like being run off a partially charged battery.

I had the same issue on my LX9 last year. If you turn it on and put it in the dark can you see the blue lights on the keys? If so, I think it's shot because that's what happened to mine. I was told to take the battery leads off the battery and then tuch them together for 10 seconds. It didn't work for me but you could try it. I was just fishing with my cousin yesterday and his 9 was work fine the day before, went to turn it on and got a weird red screen, that turned to gray with a line running across it about 1/3 the way from the bottom, not good.

CAMAN I did not charge from yesterday so lets hope it that.

Just can't imagine it would be shot? only use handful of time so far.

It's charging now but would that have anything to do with the transducer?

Turn power on, have all 3 screens but shows 0 depth no bottom no colors no nothing, and all the keys are blue color like you were saying.

Transducer is making clicking noise.

Mine did the same thing on Saturday, didn't have any time to mess with it since the heater quitting was the main concern. Mine was fully charged.

Like holmsvc mentioned, check your range setting.

Mine did the same thing until I found I was in the new "Manual Dynamic" range.

I manually set the range at a shallow lake and when I went to a deeper spot the following week, no bottom, no marks, etc. when I powered it up.

Thought my LX-7 was defective until I went to automatic dynamic range again....

Had the same exact issue. Its a bad diode. Gonna have to bring/send it in. Only took them less than 30 mins for mine. When the techs were talking after my explanation. One of them referred to the issue as 'R16' was bad.

Sounds like the same

Thing that happened to my LX9

First day out of box.

I was the first customer to ever bring in

An LX9 to Marcum Customer service.

Purchased before they hit the shelf.

They ended up replacing the head.

Worked ever since.

Mine lit the blue buttons also.

It's possible mine is set to the wrong range, had fished Red lake the weekend before, I'd bet it is on manual not dynamic range. Didn't really matter I guess since I didn't even wet a line.

Mine did the same thing when I got back to town from fishing up north. I was fishing different depth up there and I had hit the save button while I was up there so when I turned it on I had to reset all my things again. It worked perfect the rest of the day.

    • When doing a Repo it's best to have some good pictures for them to try and copy. Part of the issue is they make a lot of their fish off molds they have made over the years of different size fish.  Not sure if they have to make a new mold if the cost will be more? That is why I have never had one done of this 36" inch Laker I caught and released a few years ago. It was really long but thin and all the molds the two company's I talked to had were big bellied Lakers from like Canada that didn't look anything like it. So I just didn't want to spend about $5-6 bills for a fish that didn't look much like the one I caught.
    •   Thank you sir, I will check them out.   Phone pic of a disposable camera pic. Wish I would have got a little more detail. At sunset, lighting was bad.   Oct 21st bass. Big mouth and head, belly was not oversized, but it was a tall fish all the way back. No weight, but I am guessing it cracked 7 lbs.   I remember reading a couple years later after Mark Raveling broke the state record, and he said a 7 lb bass in MN is a once in a lifetime fish.   I now tend to agree with him.
    • I just had to wiggle mine back and forth. The tolerances are pretty tight so it is not hard to bind it up. You should not have to use much force at all. I agree the design is so stupid and high maintenance. My next one will probably be with a torsion axle. Did you buy this from a dealer?
    • I don't know anything about these but if you can put some heat to it , it might help
    • Not sure how the hell you guys “just slide it off!” It took me a good hour just to take off the metal retaining ring, this darn house is only 3 years old!! But after taking the ring off the axle doesn’t budge at all, tried jacking it up with a floor jack and it just flexes the stub it rests on. Pulling feels like trying to pull a 75 year old oak tree out of its roots; I soaked it with penetrating oil before calling it quits tonight; my last resort now is itll break and I’ll get some sort of wiggle room with the axle otherwise I put everything back together, pump it with grease and jack it up and down until it gets free?   Otherwise I’m going to have to bring it in and there’s another $200   i told the wife I’m ready to sell this PITA after only having 3 weeks with it; the axle design is the worst, why would they expose everything to the salt? Frustrated as you can tell...
    • SG is a 2013 with about 4K miles on it.
    • Congratulations, those are some great birds
    • Thanks for the insight, I will purchase some tubes for the crab apple and plum.
