I've got two in my boat, one was a standard dashboard gauge, the other is part of the Mercury SmartCraft gauges, and I don't use either of them. Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see the value of having them?In terms of installing one, I wouldn't know where to start ...... boatfixer Posted July 6, 2009 Share Posted July 6, 2009 IMHO, with the exception of a sterndrive or pontoon boat, I would consider them worth the money. However, to answer your question, installing the guage itself is relatively easy, use the correct size hole saw then wire it up.
