Loon
I just installed a new bow mount trolling motor with the Universal Sonar 2.My question is do you guys go into your sonar menu and use the "keel offset" function to offset the depth that the built in transducer sits below the water line?On the transom I've never done this, but the US2 seems to sit quite a ways into the water.Thanks...I'll hang up and listen. PerchJerker
I never do the keel offset for my bowmount --- for one thing, I sometimes run it as high as possible and sometimes as deep as possible, so the depth varies from how I have it set. Plus I'm just used to it reading a little shallower than my transom transducers read.
jigginjim
I agree with perch, I use mine just to find the weed edges, fish and seeing my jig. Depth is just a reference number.
eyebjim
I agree with perch and jim on the bow mount. I do like to set the depth offset on the transom unit for accuracy when motoring.
Deitz Dittrich
Put another on the list of people who do not do it.. I am more interested in bottom content and depth changes than I am in exact depth...LMAO @ I'll hang up and listen...
