Bear age reports

Does anyone know when they send out how old the bears shot last year were?

It's usually in May that they send out the cooperater patches and age information....

Mine came last Saturday. The sow I shot was 18 years old. I couldn't believe it.

18 wow, so that bear was born before I could legally drink and I'm 38 years old so wow. That's a heck of a lot of winters and hibernating .

Bears are long lived--several have been aged at over 30 and one in captivity at over 40.
