Fuel Water filter install questions

I bought one to install on the boat and have a question. It says on there not to use teflon tape. What can I use on the fittings to make sure it doesn't leak... And I am using it as a T for my two motors, it has two inputs and two out puts. So I was going to plug one of the inputs and use the two outputs to go to my main & kicker motors. Good plan?

Can you use the pipe goop instead of the tape?

Do not use tape and make sure the pipe dope is for gasoline use.

The install went well. Worse part was squeezing the ball to get all the air out ufda.
