Crow hunting with your dog...

Has anyone used crow hunting to get their dog ready for the hunting season? I've never heard of it and wondered if there was a specific reason not to. Sharp beak? Disease?

ps. Pigeons are nasty and dirty birds but everyone uses them for training.

I had a lab that went to retrieve one, picked it and spit it out, with the funnest look on her face, I said fitch it up, she just looked at me , and she came walking back with head down tail between her legs like she had done something wrong, I've never asked my dos to retrieve another again, they do stink!!!! GAR
