Poutwhacker
I have a 1.5 year old Lab that needs some work. Does anyone out there know of, or had any experience with any good, reputable dog trainers in central/north cental MN area?I live near Walker/Leech Lake and would prefer not to have to travel 100's of miles to take him there. Plus I like to keep the $$$ semi-locally, if possible. He needs some help in his pheasant hunting skills.ThanksPoutwhacker
Outfitter17
Hey Poutwacker,If you can't find anyone local, Give Bob Walker a call. You will have to travel a bit, but its well worth it. I have couple of buddies that travel a 1000 miles to have bob train their labs. I have used him in the past on a few dogs and he is great, I am bringing my new pup down to him in a couple of weeks. Good Luck
JConrad
Hey Poutwhacker.... Brainerd isn't too far from the Walker area. Pine Shadows in Brainerd has a great training facility. I help out there periodically and really like Morgan Haglan... He does a great job with all breeds and in particular retrievers. He is working with quite a few labs currently. You can google them to get their web site for information. They breed Springers but train all breeds. Also, they always have a good supply of live birds for training. I hope this helps..... FCspringer
I will also add the Pine shadows training program for all breeds. They have helped me out several times as well, I would like to go up there more and enjoy the fun. You will learn alot from them. And it is right in your back yard.
