Has anyone seen these or used one? I was told by a guy at thorne bros they are good for throwing big bladed #10s. He showed me the saltist and trinidad well the saltist would be more in my price range. It looks like a heavy duty reel that would last throwing big blades and it also has a power handle. I threw my 30TH the other day for the first time and loved it. Casted well, retreived well, burns the double 10s in like nobodys business, can't wait to get on the water with mine.

I didn't have any problems with the line winding on the spool correctly either, mine doesn't have a levelwind.

There have been favorable reports for the saltists, one guide in particular used one last summer and fall quite a bit and had no trouble's using 10's and 13's. For the price, it'd be easy to have a primary and backup and still be under a trinidad...and you get a levelwind!

i'd ask (if you didn't) Pat at thorne bros. what he thinks of a 700 TE. the guy is no nonsense and a salesman. two things that don't normally gel that good, but he does it with flair. i never caught him being wrong/misleading yet, and i look for it. i'm partial to levelwinds, but i never used different, so i'm biased. good luck.

I got to use one last weekend on the water in MO. Pulled the dubba 10s pretty easy. Didn't use it very long, just a few casts, so my sample size is small, but what I did see seemed nice.
