Hi-Vis mono / copoly suggestions

Looking to fill a couple spinning reels / extra spools with a good Hi-Vis mono / copolymer mainly for bobber fishing, but also some jig fishing also. Sufix or Gamma reviews, or any other suggestions appreciated in advance.

I really don't know. I just bought it off the bulk spool to give it a try and was very impressed. I have used virtually every hi vis line and this seems to be my favorite. I do not care for the yellow though. It is tough for me to see at sunrise against stained water. I'm hoping they make it in green.

SUFIX Elite in yellow is good. The Cortland line Mike is talking about is the Endurance and it is very good. I am respooling my reels over to it. You can get it from Fish Usa. I've had some bad spools of the green Sensation so I no longer use it. I wish I could get the Maxima Fibreglow - best line I've used so far and the pink color is very visible in all light conditions.

I'm phasing out my sensation. I think I have a spool and a half of it and then it will be all Cortland for me. According to the baitshop this is made from Tippet material. I know how anal those fly fisherman are so it must be good stuff. The same person also told me that if you ever looked at Sensation under a microscope that you would never use it at all. I believe it because it feel rough when you spool it on your reel.

This Cortland stuff handles cold weather extremely well. I'm not sure how it will stand up to zebra mussels and snaggy areas yet. But so far so good.

The line is very limp even in cold weather which is very important for me. As far as abration resistance I have not put it to the test yet.

I also got a message that this line is available in green. I put in a special order request for it and will be trying it out in the near future to see how it works. So far I like properties of the line.

Thanks Mike ... Definitely be giving that a try (if I can find it). Currently have P-line CXX, tuff line, but too stiff (wants to spring off the reel). Anyone know what metro stores carry Cortland Endurnace?

Anyone have any comment about hiVis orange color?

Nobody has Cortland locally. Everts will be happy to mail some up - Dean is very reasonable to deal with. Gamma has HiVis orange. Tried it and not pleased at all with it's cold weather performance. Sufix Siege comes in tangerine color - not as good as Sufix Elite or the Cortland but acceptable. Liked it better than Sensation.

If you are serious about any kind of walleye fishing, especially the rivers, talk to Dean - he can get you setup in no time. Dean is a great walleye stick in addition to running to a great bait shop. For example, I was looking for a new trolling setup. Emailed Dean with my thoughts. Bounced some ideas back and forth. Picked up the rod and reel all spooled and ready for action on Sat. Dean's prices are very competitive and his advice is impeccable. And you can demo rods and reels if you are down on Pool 4.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
