How do you know when the DCS charger is going bad, I seem to be having issues with mine, it flashes 20% then 80% and doesn't seem to charge consistently. Last night I plugged it in this morning it still hadn't charged. I did put a new battery in after christmas, I guess it could be bad already. Is there anyway to check the charger?

Since we're getting near the end of ice season I'll mention that your DSC should be disconnected from the battery during long term storage.

If you have a meter you can check the voltage of the battery.

If its low hook up the charger to the battery and then test again to see how many volts above if any the battery tested at.

If you have another battery I'd try the charger on that.

If you have a charger other then the DSC try that on the battery.

It might be the battery and not the DCS. If ther is a difference in amperes or ohms or whatever it is the charger might not perform correctly with it. You would think all 7 volt batteries would be alike but of course not.
