I got a battery desulphanator from Northern last year. I left it on an older battery the entire winter. I expected the battery to be toast but it made it through the summer - that is until the late season canoe trip out on a small lake. I have googled deep cycle battery and come up with some really good articles that helped me learn a lot.

I have two of the Battery Minders from Northern. Leave them on all the time. They have worked good for me.

I used to ruin a battery every couple years by not taking care of charging it during the off season. No more worries now.

Not sure about other brands. Do some online research I guess.

I have a Yuasa Smartshot battery tender, and I swear by it. Yuasa also makes batteries for motorcycles, wheelers, etc. I had a Polaris snowmobile that drew too many amps and wore down batteries. So at a 100 a pop or so for a battery I finally went to the battery tender and that snowmobile started every time after that. Yuasa has also very good customer service. We had a lighting strike, and my warranty had expired several months before and they replaced it no questions asked.

Batteries Plus, carries the Battery Tender brand and my buddy has one of those he likes.
