Why is it?

that every time I plan a trip up north to go sledding we get dumped on with snow here in the metro. The trip out of town is always a pain and there isn't any fresh fun to play with once I get up north. Oh well I'll have fun anyways just venting. It would be nice to get a good snowfall here just one time that I'm staying home for the weekend.

well i'm not sure where your heading but my weather was just flashing and it is saying 3-5 to here (brainerd) and the radio says 3-6

so it should be fairly good riding this week with fresh snow but i think it will go away fast unless we get some of those big heavy snows in march soooon

Going to the Gunflint so there will be plent of snow on the ground, just not the fresh stuff.

No riding for me. Broken ribs....but....if we get lucky, I will wrap my ribs as tight as I can and take a spin around the lake. I never bank on the weather man.

OK we'll do. I've heard they are in great shape up there. It'll be a blast once I get there.

Just got back last night. The state trail on the north shore was in great shape. We were riding at 40-50+ mph the whole time. The gunflint trails had plenty of snow too but they were beat up pretty bad by Sat. night and Sunday. Nothing a groomer can't take care of this week. It was pretty busy up there. There was a winter festival on the trail so a lot of sleds headed up the gunflint from Grand Marais. The trails should still be very good in a few weeks unless they get a very warm streak.
