Salting Minnows.

Just looking for a little info on how to salt some shiners. Heading for Canada this weekend and would like to bring some with. Any info is appreciated, thanks

maybe just get some Gulp Alive, seems to work really well. People I have talked to used a 50/50 salt brine and just put the minnows into it after it was disolved. Soaked them overnight.

first choice would be the gulp, other wise I know people who took table salt poured it in the bag covering the minnows.

Minnows in ziploc, drain all water. When dead, drain all water again. Make a mix of 2/3 canning salt and 1/3 borax, sprinkle over minnows. Let set for awhile and then drain liquid again.

Freeze. The borax keeps the minnows from getting mushy when thawed out.
