Scrapping Gold

Where would you go to scrap a few gold items?

I'm not a huge fan of pawn shops and I'm a little bit leary of the one's that you have to mail your gold in.

I know people that went to American Rare Coin and were happy. They are in Bloomington and downtown St. Paul.

The one on TV (cash4gold) is a HUGE rip off. Google it, and you will see.

One of the TV stations ran a piece on this a few weeks ago and they found huge price differences. The send in one was no good and one of the pawn shops was bad as well. I can't remember but it may have been KSTP. Probably the best thing to do would be to check with 2 or 3 places if you think it's worth the effort.

I know a jewler who will melt it down and turn it into something that you may want. Let me know if you are interested and I will send you her name. I know alot of people have done this with outdated jewlery and had some pretty cool stuff made (hunting and fishing related, etc...)
