First Perch and more...

Recommended Posts

Took the little guy out fishing today to take advantage of the warm temps. He lasted about 3 hours out there until he decided to step into a hole and want to go home. Luckily, he didn't get too wet so it wasn't bad.

Here he is with a perch he helped reel up. Trying to get a two year old to lip a fish is more difficult than it may seem.

Gotta run and see what Grandpa is up to.

Shove slush and snow in so I can scoop it back out.

It was a fun day even though the catch count wasn't very high. He was able to get a couple gills and a perch out of the hole today.

Yeah, it was a day to play more than anything. We had fish under the holes the entire time we were out there, they were just small panfish though. Right after I got there, two trucks pulled up with 4 guys and two other kids and they had a big sled on skis. Hunter asked me if he could go play with the boys and the other guys were cool with it so we went sledding for quite some time. He had a ton of fun out there. I think he is probably a couple years away from auger practice yet though. He's gotta be able to start it on his own before he can drill the holes. Notice, he is using his "floating" scoop.
