gill pill

anyone use those gill pill jigs? what you think of them? work well? i tend to use the fatboys and recently bought the bro bug ,the gill getter and the mud bug cant wait to try them tomorrow!

I like them a lot when fishing shallower. I wish they had a bit more heft to them, like the diamond jig. I like the diamond jigs better, mostly because they are heavier for the size.

I would like to see them heavier.I think they have good movement and work good in shallow water.I just don't fish shallow much.

I use them, mostly in shallower water looking for gills along weedlines.

I'm with Chode, the diamond jigs are much more versatile. They can be used shallow or deep, whereas the gill pills are limited to shallower depths.

Dont let that steer you away from the gill pill. I would stongly suggest still having an assortment of them. They have their purpose, which just happens to be shallow water.

i used the gill pill today in 25FOW and got 4 9+inch gills and 2 nice bass, one was 21inches

Yeah, you can use them deeper, but then you have to add a little shot to your line, which I feel completely kills the action of your jig.

Hopefully they come out with a heftier size for next year. I would like the size 10 hook, but a heavier body.
