Pink lumps on crappies

I'm sure this has been asked before but can anyone tell me what are the pink or red lumps bulging out underneath a fishes scales?? Is this something I should be concerned about for eating or no big deal?? Almost every crappie I have cought in this specific lake is full of them. Some of them on their mouth but mostly on the body. Thanks in advance.......

I've observed this condition in the past on both sunnies and crappies and I've always taken a pass on them. It seems like it's more common on smaller lakes and ponds and especially in agricultural areas. I don't know if there's any link there but just an observation.

Doesn't quite look like any of those. They are not as bad as the ones in the pictures. They are pink lumps on the fish around the size of a penny. If I get back out there I will take some pics. On almost every crappie I have caught. (Lake Independence) I know others have seen this.
