Poor mans keel guard?!?

Ive got an old yar-craft fiberglass boat that that has a pretty scratched up keel. Im looking for advice on a cheaper alternative to a manufactured keel guard. I heard somewhere about a 3m product called safety walk? Its supposed to be used in pools on steps from what I remember. Anyways, has anyone heard of this or know of a particular product I could use? Just cant quite justify $170+ for a plexible piece of plastic ......yet!

Maybe it doesn't seem all that logical to spend so much on a keel guard, but I assure you it would be a wise choice to go with a good brand and have installed. The consequences of having a makeshift keelguard that may fail are well worth the initial cost of installing a quality product, just my opinion.

I think if its a true keel gaurd to dont they have a lifetime warranty or something like that? I might be wrong but just wondering.

that sounds rather cheap i just bought a new Yar Craft myself

and i was told 300 I thought that was alittle spndy

who told you 170 was that installed ??

Nope 170 was just the do it yourself model looks like 300 plus to have on done professionally...I need a new job!
