Bass Boat question

Looking at getting a Ranger Z20. It's a 2005 and I have heard that people have had problems with decks being uneven because the lids don't shut properly. Has anyone heard of this, is it thing that should shy me from buying this model and year? Any feedback appreciated

The Z20 is one of the worst riding boats that ranger makes. However the Z21 is awesome. Talk to several pros who own them and run in decent sized water, and you'll get similar responses. Most guys on the pro-teams are going to the Z520 for a reason (the best 20ft ride out there). The lids take some getting used to, but after a while you won't be fumbling arount picking up the wrong latch and opening up the wrong compartments. I notice that when you stand on the side of the center rod locker it feels like it rocks a little bit. It's not from the latches, but there is an extra layer of foam under that area so it feels softer. I would find an earlier 520 model (non-z) or Z21 before I went for a Z20.

Have Dietz give you a ride. I'm pretty impressed with that rig, but I will say that I have never been in a 20+ foot Ranger. The problem with the Bass Cats is there are none around here. You would literally have to drive 1/2 way across the country to pick up a used one.

I have ridden in quite a few Rangers, and all have had a pretty good ride. I have not ridden in a z20.. I would try to contact Agape(Wayne Ek) I think he runs a Z20

TB- What makes you interested in a Z boat??

I think the ride is good in all the z boats but the clips on the deck do not lock!!! They always seem to come open and don't lock good. It was a good ideal and if they would lock and hold good they would be sweet but they dont!!!
