2009 Favorite Open Water Locator Poll

With the boat shows starting up I figured now is as good of a time as any for a Favorite Open Water Locator Poll.

Per requests from last year, you can vote for a maximum of 2 brands (but don't have to), and I split out Eagle and Lowrance.

Should be interesting to see the results!

I was a Lowrance man for many many years but after getting my Humminbird 957c I will be hard pressed to buy another Lowrance. They are good units but I believe I get more bang for the buck with my Bird. I just wish I could use my Lakemaster in it. frown

I have heard tons of people talking about the quality control at lowrance. I personally run them on my boat, but ever since johnson outdoors had taken humminbird they have really increased in features and quality. I will probably end up getting a humminbird as my next unit, and of course a vexilar!

When Hummingbird can use Lakemaster chips, I could be talked into switching.

I believe the issue is more so Lakemaster, and it's close alliance / work relationship with Lowrance at this point.

But, agreed... Navionics leaves a lot to be desired when compared to Lakemaster.
