Zelmsdawg
Over my ice fishing career, I've been lucky enough to see 2 skies on my camera while ice fishing. So I was wondering, has anyone ever tried putting down a big sucker (when legal) or decoy or something and just watching it with an aqua view? Just to see what comes in to look. I've thought about trying this a couple times but when it comes down to it ice fishing is my time of the year to actually catch fish since it doesn't happen that often in the summer... Esox_Magnum
I see many ever ice season, sometimes 3-4 a day. Seasons closed here so we can't target them. I do chase them during open water but not a fan of live bait. They are cool to see though when you can sight fish and have a 50" brute swim under you in 4' of water. Esox_Magnum
Why not marv, those big toothies are fun on perch/panfish set ups Just wish we could find them on that lake in the summer.
10,000 Casts
We have set up a few times and put the camera down only to see a few of em swimming around. The times that we saw them, the fishing (walleyes) wasn't verry good, in fact I don't think that I have ever seen a Muskie on the camera and caught a walleye. TheHawgTrough
I've caught a few on tip-ups back when the season was open later. Am learning it may not have been the brightest thing to target them through the ice...Did find, at least on the lake we were one, they preferred the big shiners (back when you could still get them in MN) over the larger sucker minnows. TheHawgTrough
I just had this sent to me today. OTCBigBass
We have seen about 12-15 muskies fishing pan fish out of our fish house this winter. Sure is fun then they fallow a sunfish up to the ice.
JoeTC
I've had one sit on the outside of my spear hole. I think I would mess my pants if a big one came into check out my decoy. Even small pike looks big in a spear hole. My dad saw one on Little Boy through a spear hole and almost had a heart attack. I have seen one on the camera ice fishing for crappies on Independence. It came by through the school of crappies suspended fifteen feet up in 40ft of water.Joe
