Power Augers & gas?

I bought a new Lazer mag years back, it sat in the basement because my Lazer hand auger did the job just fine. I finally decided to use it. My question is, is 1 tank of gas sufficent for a day of fishing and drilling thru 16"-20" of ice or do I need to drag the gas can with me. How many holes can I expect to drill at 16"-20" of ice? Any and all replies greatly appreciated.

The question should be will it start with old gas in it. Change the gas and the plug.

I always bring a can of gas with so if I do need it I have it. Its like a extension. Never ask should I bring it or do we need it. Always have it along just in case. It dont take much to carry either.

For me, one tank, 40 - 60 holes, I have an old (20 yrs +??) strikemaster something III powerhead (2 HP)I got from my dad on a 7yr old 10" lazer.

I agree, if it had gas change it and the plug. I also recommend using full synthetic 2-cycle oil. You can mix it 75 or even 100 to 1, I use 75-1. At that rate it's cheaper than regular 2-cycle and you have almost no smoke in the house, it starts better and easier than with regular an it has never gone bad over the summer. Amazing stuff.
