Waas and H20

I received a H20 for christmas and love it! I was just wondering why I cant get reception from a waas satellite?? Is there a way to enable it on the menu that I am missing? I have tried everything so any help please....

Hit "Menu", "Menu" "GPS Setup" and make sure "Use WAAS/EGNOS" is checked on.

Or, you just might not get WAAS at your location

I have to be on the MAP screen in order to get there

I am on my satellites page hitting menu-menu-gps setup and then the options... I see show waas alarm but nothing enabling waas?

From the Satellite screen mine shows check boxes for

Use WAAS/EGNOS

Require WAAS

Show WAAS Alarm

Along with others not pertaining to WAAS

Mine is the iFinder HuntC but I think they're the same, correct?

I assumed so but not sure.. My only waas option in that menu is "show waas alarm" I downloaded the manual from their HSOforum as well and don't see anything about how to turn it on for some reason.

Actually, on 2nd thought, my unit is about 4 years old, when the HuntC 1st came out. Maybe yours (a newer unit) automatically selects WAAS when it's available and it just isn't available where you are. I can't get WAAS right now either. I do get WAAS here at times but do get it more in more southernly locations.

My H2o automatically enables WAAS. I never have tried to turn in on but just this past thursday I was on my way to a local lake and turned on H20, and shortly thereafter a prompt appeared saying WAAS enabled. That was first time I've noticed that and I bought the unit in late july. I'll take a look tomorrow to see if I can figure it out. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I think if you go into the Advanced Menus and go to GPS Setup you will have an option to enable WAAS. It's okay to enble it but make sure you don't set it to require WAAS.

And as Dave mentioned, WAAS is not always available, especially to handheld gps units, depending on your location.

I am in advanced mode and there is there is no option to enable waas in gps setup. It must just automatically enable it or else I have no waas coverage in the Brainerd area. Thanks guys!

When in the Staples area I receive WAAS.I have a 16 year old unit.

There is a chance, just a chance, that you have a defective unit. Lowrance has one of the best coustomer service departments in the buisness. I would call them and explain the situation.

Without the WAAS you have no accuracy. You can watch on the Sat. page when waas kicks in accuracy runs down as close as 7 feet.
