ikeslayer
So i am watching these classic videos and it appear that Ray Scott and Forrest L Wood are good friends and everthing. Forrest cranks out rangers every year for the classic and ray scott has no trouble selling them for him after the classic, however at what point did they part ways. Was there a falling out? I am sure someone knows the story.
HellaBass
I don't think they ever really parted ways. FLW Outdoors was created when Irwin Jacobs bought Operation Bass (KNow as the Redman Circuit) Jacobs owns, Genmar, which Ranger boats was the flagship per say of Genmar operations. He named FLW Outdoors & tournaments after Ranger founder, Forrest L WoodSo I don't think there is any bad blood between Forrest & Ray
Cecil
No bad blood at all. Once ESPN bought BASS, I think the contract went to the highest bidder, which at the time was Triton
bassrap
The official reason that was given for the split goes back to when BASS tried to create a NASCAR type league for bass fishing. It was a combination event that included fishing as well as racing your bass boat through a course. A number of guys got hurt doing the racing and Ranger used it as a reason to pull their support. It was a short lived experiment for BASS, not to mention a complete failure. The true reason for the split was FLW.
