I have 4 of them and love them for crappies and sunnies, dont care for the reels at all though

Rods are nice and reels are so so

Agree with CQ. I've tried 3 different types of line and the line keeps coming off and catching on the drag nut on top of the reel. I've filled the reels less and more and all points in between. Not a fan of them at all.

Rods are sensitive and work well for pannies.

Rods are decent but, take the reel of and put something better on. The reels might be the cheapest piece of junk out there.

Rods are ok but not as nice as the old Genz rods made by Berkley I think. I like the Jason Mitchel sticks better.

The reels are pretty much junk. I would take them off and give them to a kid.

Exactly. I bought a Genz combo from the Big C store in Rogers last winter for my son. The reel is junk. We ended up taking it off and putting one of the small Pflueger spinning reels on instead. Ticked me off. I'm not sure if its the same reel on the new Gold combo, but I'm inclined not to buy any more Genz products because of it. Very disappointed.

I have to agree with everyone I really like the sticks but the reels have lost me more then one fish when the anti-reverse fails. There is plenty of F.M.'ers that have witnessed me do this!!!

By kid I mean a youngster not a teen. They are plenty good for the youngsters. Better than the old wood dowling I started with.
