ok I think I have it narrowed down to the Humminbird ICE™-55 Flasher. so has anyone seen any good deals?

one last question if one has 1600 watts of power and one has 2400 watts of power what kind of difference is that to me?

I think the more watts is better especially if you hook it up to a transducer in open water. I dont think it will make any difference if you are using it for ice fishing becuase it is stationary. Someone correct me if im wrong but I think that is the benefit to having more watts

Regarding the power difference, in some situations it won't do anything for you, but in some situations it will be very beneficial. More power does a better job identifying and distinguishing targets ...... so if you are fishing over weeds, or have baitfish below you, or have fish tight to the bottom, or multiple fish in a school, or a tiny bait on your line, etc. ....... having more power will give you a cleaner display showing you exactly what is down there. More power also becomes more important as you fish in deeper water.
